USCIS Fee Increase Injunction

On September 29, 2020, a federal district judge in California issued a preliminary injunction against the USCIS’ fee increase rule. The rule would increase the USCIS’ filling fees on families, businesses, new citizens and others. The fees were scheduled to go into effect on October 2, 2020.

As long as this preliminary injunction is in effect, USCIS cannot raise the filling fees.  However, the government will try to obtain a stay of the injunction from the circuit court.

It is our suggestion for people to file their applications/petitions as soon as they can while the preliminary injunction is in effect.
